Joseph Schwab, MD, FAAOS, FAOA

Joseph Schwab, MD, FAAOS, FAOA, is an internationally recognized leader in hip surgery and orthopedic research. His clinical expertise is in hip preservation and reconstruction, and he is internationally known for his educational efforts with anterior approach total hip replacement. Dr. Schwab currently directs research in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland and was the former 2025 Anterior Hip Foundation (AHF) President.
Charles M. Lawrie, MD

Charles Lawrie, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care. Dr. Lawrie specializes in adult hip and knee joint replacement surgery, including hip resurfacing, anterior approach hip replacement, robotic-assisted partial and total knee replacement, and revision joint replacement. Dr. Lawrie is actively involved in designing and developing technology and implants for hip and knee replacement. He also focuses on clinical research and training fellows. Together, Dr. Lawrie and his patients develop a tailored solution to their unique problems and situations to help them achieve their goals for recovery. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Lawrie is also the incoming President for the 2026 Anterior Hip Foundation (AHF).
